Beautiful actress Chelsea Staub blew audiences away as mean girl Meredith Baxter Dimley in Bratz. The talented blond not only delivered a great performance but she sang and danced her heart out too! With the success of the recent Disney channel movie 'Minutemen' and a role on the much anticapted upcoming show 'J.O.N.A.S.' (starring the Jonas Brothers), Chelsea is on her way to superstardom! Ms. Staub takes a moment to chat with Lady Yuna and Bratz Fanz about filming Bratz, her career and her first on screen kiss (with Jesse McCartney)!
Lady Yuna: Was it fun playing mean girl Meredith in Bratz?
Chelsea: I had a blast playing "Meredith!" It was the first time I had ever played the villain and it was so much fun! I'm not like that in real life (or at least I hope I'm not!?!) so to be able to say and do some of the things she did was a kick.
Lady Yuna: You have an amazing voice! Any plans to release an album?
Chelsea: No plans for an album. I love singing when the role requires it, but I don't really consider myself a singer. But thank you so much for the great compliment!!
Lady Yuna: How long did it take to film the musical numbers 'It's All About Me' and 'Fabulous'?
Chelsea: The musical numbers were pretty hectic. I would only get the songs a night or two before I had to record them... plus we were in the middle of the shoot... so I would get home late after filming all day and have to learn the song and be ready to go to the recording studio the next morning. It was also tight time-wise to learn the dance numbers. I learned the "It's All About Me" number the night before we shot it... and I learned the "Fabulous" dance routine during my lunch hour... haha... and we filmed it right after that. And obviously the songs are a lot longer than what ended up in the movie... so there was a lot to learn! But "Fabulous" was shot in a couple of hours... and "It's All About Me" ended up being shot over a couple of days because it was the big talent show number and there was an audience and a lot of other things going on, so we had to do it over and over.
Lady Yuna: What was it like to work with the legendary Jon Voight?
Chelsea: Jon Voight is amazing. He was so wonderful to me. Always willing to take the time to chat and teach and work on scenes... a very giving man. Unfortunately a lot of scenes didn't make it to the final cut, but it was a thrill for me to work with him.
Lady Yuna: The Disney Channel movie 'Minutemen' was so much fun and did well in the ratings! How was the filming experience?
Chelsea: It was amazing. I thought this cast was so talented... and we all just clicked. We were all in a hotel together in Utah and we had so much fun on this set. We would work all day together and then still wanted to spend our evenings and days off together. It's unusual for everyone to get along so well... especially since we were also different ages.

Lady Yuna: You're currently filming J.O.N.A.S. , a Disney channel series starring the adorable Jonas Brothers. What are they like to work with?
Chelsea: Unfortunately because of the writer's strike, we haven't started filming the series yet. But we did shoot the pilot and they are incredible to work with. They are kind and funny and so talented and professional... just like you would imagine! It was a great experience and I'm looking forward to more.
Lady Yuna: What can you tell us about your character Stella Malone?
Chelsea: In the pilot, Stella is a reporter for a teen fan magazine. She is always trying to get "scoops" on the boys, so she uses her femininity to try to date each of them to see what she can find out behind-the-scenes. However, I've heard there are going to be some changes to her character... so I'm anxious to see the new scripts!
Lady Yuna: You got to kiss cutie Jesse McCartney (lucky!) on the show Summerland. Is it awkward to film kissing scenes?
Chelsea: Yeah, they can be a little nerve-wracking... haha! Jesse was my first kissing scene... and my first tv show, so I was very nervous. But he was wonderful... and I enjoyed every minute of it! On Bratz, I had a kissing scene with Stephen Lunsford and it was on the very first day of shooting, so I was a little nervous with that one, too. But Stephen and I were friends... and I've been very lucky to have those scenes with such amazing guys!!
Lady Yuna: Thank you so much for speaking with me! I'm a big fan and admire your work and look forward to all of your upcoming projects!
Chelsea: Thank you so much!! I appreciate your interest!! :)
